CHROMagar™ in veterinary medicine are chromogenic culture media used to isolate and identify specific bacteria from animal samples, such as those causing urinary tract infections or mastitis. They can change color of bacterial colonies, allowing for faster and easier identification than traditional methods. These media are used to differentiate between pathogens like E. coli, Staphylococcus, and Streptococcus, and are available in various formulations for specific purposes, including identification of antibiotic-resistant strains.
